WHATS HAPPENING?
Cycle from Galway City Centre (Eyre Square) to Dublin City Centre (The Sugar Club) on 4 Promobikes – a distance of 240km. The “Haul” will take place over 3 days covering approximately 80km per day. The finishing point of the cycle is Dublin’s Sugar Club, where an Umbrella Event will take place – a charity auction followed by top DJ’s.
WHO'S INVOLVED?
Jamie Heaslip, International Rugby Player who is Patron of the Umbrella Foundation will help the teams along the way and even take a leg of the challenge on his own Promobike!
Established Graffiti Artist Maser, well known for his innovative letter styles, characters and photo realism, will also be participating and is donating 2 large canvases for private auction and limited edition prints for sale, on the night.
We are delighted to also have the support of other well know Irish personalities to support the Haul and help raise further awareness for the Umbrella Foundation including Vogue (Model & TV personality), The Corona’s (Irish Rock Band) and Eoghan O’Gara (Dublin GAA Footballer)
THE UMBRELLA FOUNDATION
The Umbrella Foundation, an Irish run charity based in Nepal seeks to relieve the impact of poverty and war on children through projects which promote education, vocational training, and community enrichment, so that they may grow up to become responsible, contributing citizens of Nepal.
Umbrella has focused on rescuing, housing, and educating trafficked and destitute children. The current capacity is 325 children, living in 8 houses. Now that the civil war is over, Umbrella can focus on reuniting the children with their families when conditions permit or, when reunification is not possible, providing them the education and vocational skills they need to ensure they can find gainful employment when they become adults. By focusing on this latter stage of the cycle now, The Umbrella Foundation can endeavour to restart the cycle and rescue more conflict-displaced children, whose number is now estimated at 30,000.

Irish Rugby Player and long time Umbrella supporter, Jamie Heaslip, volunteers with The Umbrella Foundation Nepal:
We showed all the houses some footage of Jamie in action so that they could appreciate the game of rugby and the volunteer they were about to meet…after seeing a few scrums, tries and tackles it wasn’t clear if they thought he was impressive or mad! The general reaction was “oh so danger!!!”
He entered Umbrella to huge cheers from all the Umbrella kids and staff! Within his first 20 minutes he was thrown right into the thick of things and he joined the kid’s ‘Strong Man Competition’ and took on some of our girls in a Tug of War!!!
The kids were been blown away by him, they’re fascinated by his huge arms and his “dangerous” sport!
We’re delighted to welcome Jamie Heaslip to Umbrella and to finally introduce him to the kids he’s been helping for so long!

Maser in Action
Here’s Maser putting his name to the first of 2 canvases he has painted for the Haul4Nepal in aid of The Umbrella Foundation. Both original canvases will be included in the charity auction this Friday night, which takes place in The Sugar Club on Leeson Street. There will also be a limited edition of 50 prints of each canvas signed and numbered on sale on the night.
Huge thanks must go to Maser who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Haul4Nepal happen – from designing logo’s to helping out with logistics. If that’s not enough, Maser will also be taking part in the charity cycle (the “haul”) which begins tomorrow at 11:00 in Eyre Square, Galway.

The Corona's get behind the Haul4Nepal in aid of The Umbrella Foundation
Irish Rock stars The Corona’s took some time out from writing their new album for the charity initiative Haul4Nepal in Dingle today.
They join fellow ambassadors Fade Street stunner Vogue Wilson; artist Maser; Dublin GAA Star Eoghan O’Gara & Ireland Rugby ace Jamie Heaslip to raise funds for the Haul4Nepal. The campaign is a national awareness and fund raising event for the Irish run charity ‘The Umbrella Foundation’ based in Kathmandu Nepal helping the children of Nepal.
The Corona’s have also been good enough to donate two amazing prizes for the charity auction which will take place in The Sugar Club on May 27th at 19:30 – a guitar signed by the band as well as an unbelievable VIP package for 4 to one of their gigs which will include a meet and greet with the band, a chance to view their sound-check before the doors even open as well as front row tickets for the gig itself… Thanks lads.
